KLANG: A teenager who allegedly suffocated his lover using a pillow after she tried to end their relationship has been arrested here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said a woman alerted them of the incident at 9.12pm on Wednesday (Aug 24).

“The woman claimed she was in Bandar Saujana Putra, Jenjarom at 7.18pm when she received a video call from one of her male friends asking for help.

“The man claimed he needed someone to pick him up from Kampung Pandan, Klang after he suffocated a woman with a pillow there.

“He claimed the 24-year-old woman was unconscious,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 25).

ACP Cha said police were sent to the house and found a woman lying motionless on a bed.

“Medical personnel were called to the scene and pronounced the woman dead.

“The Selangor police forensic unit conducted a check at the house and found various items which could aid investigations,” he said, adding that police arrested a man in connection with the murder at around 9.20pm on the same day near the scene.

ACP Cha said the suspect attempted to flee but police managed to catch him.

“The 19-year-old suspect does not have a prior criminal record.

“The clothes he wore were also seized.

“We have remanded him for a week to help with further investigations,” he said, adding that investigations showed that the victim had decided to end her relationship with the suspect.
