Technician stabbed to death during a quarrel in Kluang

KLUANG: A technician died after getting stabbed several times by a 51-year-old local man inside a premises at Jalan Ampuan here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Low Hang Seng said that the incident happened following a quarrel between the victim and the suspect on Friday (March 25) night.

“Police received a distress call through the Mers 999 hotline number informing about the fight at 9.54pm.

“When my men arrived at the scene, they found the 45-year-old victim lying on the floor where he died at the scene with several stab wounds on his chest,” ACP Low said here on Saturday (March 26).

He said that the suspect, who works at a temple here, was arrested at the scene.

ACP Low added both the victim and suspect knew each other, and the police believed revenge could be the motive behind the attack.

He said the victim’s body has been sent to Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital here for a post-mortem.

He added that the suspect, who tested negative for drugs, was being remanded until April 1 to assist with the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
