Siti Nurhaliza Bukan Cinta Biasa Taiko No Tatsujin

Thanks to over-the-air (OTA) updates, modern arcade machines are able to deliver gamers with new content in order to keep things fresh and more up-to-date. One such example is Bandai Namco’s drum-based rhythm game Taiko No Tatsujin, which recently received a very interesting update to its list of songs. One of which is “Bukan Cinta Biasa” by none other than Malaysia’s own Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza.

The update was rolled out today to the “Nijiro Version” of Taiko No Tatsujin, which is the game’s fourth generation arcade machine that was released in 2020. Just in case you’re wondering, yes, you can find them in Malaysia at locations such as certain Aeon Fantasy (formerly known as Molly Fantasy) entertainment centres across the nation, as well as a number of local arcades. We can confirm this, as we’ve actually tried it out for ourselves.

For those who are unfamiliar, “Bukan Cinta Biasa” is the first single from Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza’s ninth studio album, “E.M.A.S”, which was released all the way back in 2003. The song itself is critically acclaimed, having won several awards after its debut and even celebrated its 20th anniversary in March this year.

It’s also worth mentioning that the version of “Bukan Cinta Biasa” used might be a reproduction that’s specially made for Taiko No Tatsujin instead of the original. This was pointed out by the same netizens earlier, who noted that the song did not sound like it was sung by the artiste herself, and is apparently lower-pitched.

Bandai Namco did not specifically say why the song was chosen, and we doubt its anniversary is the reason behind its inclusion to Taiko No Tatsujin. While the reveal itself pretty much came out of the blue, it is still a pleasant surprise nonetheless as this marks the first ever time that a Malaysian song has been officially added to the game.
