A MAN beat up and killed his wife seven months into her pregnancy because she wanted to have a “valaikkappu” (baby shower), Malaysia Nanban reported.
G. Arputharaj, 20, and Shakthi, 18, from Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, married in April after she got pregnant.
As Shakthi’s pregnancy advanced, she went to stay with her mother.
She told Arputharaj she wanted to have a baby shower but he refused as they were struggling financially.An argument ensued with Arputharaj attacking her. Shakthi died as a result of the beating. Arputharaj has been arrested.
