SUNGAI PETANI: A paraglider suffered injuries after crashing into the compound of the Kampung Padang Kulim mosque in Kuala Ketil near here on Sunday (Jan 9), reports Sinar Harian.

The victim, 34-year-old Sharul Nizam Samsudin from Banting, Selangor, is said to have taken off in his paraglider at about noon in Pengkalan Huly Perak.

Baling OCPD Supt Shamsudin Mamat told the Malay language portal that in the 1.30pm incident on Sunday, the victim had been hit by high winds and lost control of his glider.

“The Kuala Ketil police office received a call on the incident at about 1.30pm Sunday. The officer in charge also called the Kuala Ketil Health Clinic to ask for an ambulance for the victim,” Supt Shamsudin said.

He added that the victim was taken to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital here for further treatmet.

According to Supt Shamsudin, the victim suffered injuries to his bones but is in stable condition.
