PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak (pic), who was referred to the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC), has been sent back to Kajang Prison after he was declared to be in good condition.

In a statement yesterday, HRC said Najib had also been taught some exercises that he can do on his own.

“Najib has undergone several examinations and rehabilitation throughout his stay at HRC.

“Results from his latest examination by the HRC medical specialist found that he is in good health.

“He was also taught exercise techniques by the physical therapist to practise on his own,” HRC said.

Najib and his family were informed of his condition and plan to monitor his health via a “family conference” with consultants.

“Consultants from Hospital Kuala Lumpur and HRC have given medical clearance and allowed him to be transferred back to Kajang prison.

“In line with HRC’s goals, we remain committed and transparent in providing services to ensure patients treated here can reach optimal potential and achieve maximum functionality,” it said.

Najib was referred to HRC for further treatment and monitoring by HKL on Monday.

He is serving a 12-year sentence following the Federal Court’s decision on Aug 23 to uphold his corruption conviction involving RM42mil of SRC International funds.
