PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has proposed for a cooperation with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Parti Pejuang Tanah Air during GE15.

Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said the meeting between them happened two weeks ago after the Johor state election, Sinar Harian reported.

“Muhyiddin came to meet Tun (Dr Mahathir) two weeks ago after the Johor state election. He had asked to meet up, in which Tun had said ‘ok’.

“A proposal was put forward to join with all (parties) even though he (Muhyiddin) is in the government (Perikatan Nasional).

“Whether we agree or not, we have not made a decision. Perhaps, I can say that right now, we do not agree to what is proposed,” he said at a media conference in Terengganu.

Apart from Bersatu, Mukhriz added that Pejuang has also received an invitation from the Opposition to cooperate in GE15.

However, he said no decision had been made.

Mukhriz also admitted that the relationship between Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin is also cold due to several crises that had happened before this.

“Currently, their relationship is quite cold. You have to understand the ‘hurt’ that we felt had not yet healed and is still ‘bleeding’. But, we understand for the nation and the people, there is nothing that we would not do if the intention is right.

“But, if the intention is not right, how can we agree, for example, we will not cooperate so that they can escape from the courts. We have, since the beginning, do not want to conspire with them,” he said.
