KOTA KINABALU: Travellers from Singapore who come directly to Sabah are not required to take their Covid-19 RTK test here if they have been tested negative two days prior to their departure, says Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in the state Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

However, those who transit in Singapore, are required to take the RTK test upon arrival in Sabah’s immigration checkpoint.

As for other foreign travellers, they are required to undergo the test unless they have been tested negative by professional or certified personnel at the airports.

Basically, everyone else who enters Sabah via other Malaysian transit points who tested negative first before coming here, are not required to do so again upon arrival.

These are some of the new requirements for travelers to Sabah, as international borders reopen on Friday (April 1).

Masidi said visitors who tested positive are required to undergo quarantine first.

More details on these updated SOPs can be found in various related government portals and websites.

Meanwhile, he said Sabah recorded a total of 214 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths on Thursday (March 31).
