PETALING JAYA: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has sent his best wishes to a newlywed couple, whose wedding he attended in Johor.

Dr Wee attended the wedding at Dewan Muafakat Taman Pulai Indah in Johor Baru to celebrate the bride, Nur Afiqah Ismail – the daughter of North Johor Bahru OCPD Asst Comm Rupeah Abd Wahid – and to the groom Khairil Anuar Shariff, who is the special officer to the Deputy Environment and Water (KASA) Minister Datuk Mansor Othman.

“ACP Rupeah is an old acquaintance of mine and she is the first female OCPD in Johor. Rupeah’s husband is also a retired police officer. I knew Rupeah when she worked as a senior investigating officer (SIO) at the Johor Baru IPD about 20 years ago,” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Satuday evening (Jan 1).

“To me, ACP Rupeah is a female police officer who is efficient, dedicated and committed to combating criminal activities as well as maintaining public safety and order, especially in Johor,” he said.

“Congratulations newlyweds Khairil and Nur Afiqah. Semoga terus berbahagia ke akhir hayat (Wishing everlasting happiness),” said Dr Wee, who is also MCA president.

Also present at the ceremony, which according to Dr Wee was in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP), was Johor Baru mayor Datuk Noorazam Osman, his wife, and senior police officers.
