KUANTAN: A man was killed after his head was believed to have been hit by a falling rock from the terrain while participating in a motorcycle convoy on the road to Fraser Hill on Saturday (Dec 25).

Nor Eaffendi Mohamad Samsi, 51, from Ulu Tiram, Johor, died at the scene.

Raub district police chief Supt Kama Azural Mohamed said the incident was reported at 9am when the man and his wife joined a convoy of 30 people from Johor to Jerantut, Pahang on Friday (Dec 24), before moving to Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur via Bukit Fraser.

“The victim’s wife, who was the pillion rider, claimed that she heard a loud bang in front of her followed by the victim falling causing their motorcycle to skid.

“Preliminary police inspection found that the victim was bleeding on the face and there were cracks on his helmet,” he said in a statement here on Sunday (Dec 26).

The victim’s wife was not injured in the incident.

Kama Azural said the autopsy confirmed the death was due to bleeding in the brain with a cracked skull. – Bernama
