PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said has resigned from her post as special advisor to the Prime Minister.

According sources, Azalina tendered her resignation on Tuesday (Aug 30), reported Sinar Harian.

The Pengerang MP was appointed by Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as special advisor on law and human rights on October 2021.

Azalina, who is also an Umno supreme council member, recently questioned why the current Attorney General was not government-friendly.

She had said in other parts of the world, a prime minister would appoint “his own person” to be the AG.

Azalina had also questioned why the Federal Court rejected former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s bid to postpone proceedings after changing his team of lawyers.
