Spider-Man Remastered PC

For awhile, Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man was the best-selling game on the PS4. Then it got a remaster, as well as an expansion starring Miles Morales. And now, after four years since its initial release, it is coming to PC.

This announcement comes as part of the State of Play stream. The porting of Spider-Man is done by Nixxes, which Sony Interactive Entertainment acquired relatively recently. As with most PC ports, you can expect the familiar additions like keyboard and mouse support, adjustable render settings and so on. And for the PC port, Spider-Man Remastered will also be bundled with its DLC called The City That Never Sleeps.

Spider-Man was first released back in 2018. According to the announcement, the port will be available on PC starting 12 August 2022. This fits in the time frame of about four years for previously PS4-exclusive titles to get ported to PC, based on previous examples like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War.

The Miles Morales expansion, on the other hand, will come sometime in Fall 2022, or between late September and late December. This will be only a two year gap since its original release in 2020.

By this point, it shouldn’t be surprising that PlayStation is porting such an important exclusive to PC. after all, there have already been examples like the aforementioned Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War, as well as other flagship series like Uncharted, even if it’s not the entirety of the series. The company even announced to investors that come 2025, 30% of its releases will be on PC.

Either way, it’s great that a game like Spider-Man is coming to PC, even if it’s been quite awhile. The game will now become accessible to even more players, making PlayStation more money to give to Insomniac for its sequel that’s coming in 2023.
