Shopee has introduced Self Collection, a new checkout option that lets you collect your orders at the collection point of your choice. However, this new service is currently limited to Klang Valley users, with over 300 collection points to choose from via Mail Boxes Etc (MBE), PARCELHUB, and Shopee Express.
To opt for the new feature, tap on “Shipping Option” on the checkout page and choose Self Collection. Following that, go to “Choose Another Collection Point” and search for nearby collection points by typing in your address or postcode.
Once your order arrives at the collection point, you’ll receive an SMS with a six-digit pin code to show to the agent when collecting your parcel. Shopee’s FAQ mentions that another person could pick up the parcel for you, as long as they have the pin code, tracking number, and the phone number used to place the order. Also keep in mind that you will have seven days to pick it up after it arrives at the collection point, after which, the order will be automatically cancelled.
Self Collection is quite convenient for those who are often away from home and don’t want to leave their packages vulnerable to theft. However, the option is only available for a limited number of sellers as of writing. According to Shopee’s customer service, the new feature is being rolled out in batches and will eventually be enabled for all sellers.
