Resident Evil 4 Remake

Capcom teased the remaking of Resident Evil 4, one of the best entries in the series, as early as April last year. Since then, there have been rumours that the remake will be making some stylistic adjustments. Now, with the PlayStation State of Play broadcast, the existence of the remake has finally been confirmed.

For the unfamiliar, Resident Evil 4 tells the story of Leon S. Kennedy, having survived the Raccoon City incident, has been recruited as an agent who reports directly to the US President. After a fair number of missions as an agent, he is then sent to a village in Spain to rescue the abducted daughter of the President. When he arrives, he finds that there is something wrong with the villagers.

From the trailer that was released, we can see that the previous rumour about tweaks to the opening sequence was indeed accurate. While the original started the game during the day, Resident Evil 4 Remake shifts this to the night. Not much has been revealed about the side characters to tell if they have indeed been given more screentime.

In addition to the Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom also announced that Resident Evil Village will become available on PS VR2. Overall, you can expect this to be a familiar experience to the very well done RE7 VR. Unfortunately, this is still in development, so the company is not yet ready to reveal when it will be available. But since is is specificaly for the PS VR2, this also means that RE Village VR will be exclusively a PS5 mode.
