NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

Its existence is not exactly a secret but at the very least, the rumour mill regarding this particular graphics card can finally stop. NVIDIA earlier today officially announced the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti alongside a long list of new products and features at its CES 2023 event which includes the GeForce RTX 40 Series laptop GPUs.

In case you missed it, the genesis of the RTX 4070 Ti is one of the most bizarre origin stories in the industry. The card was supposed to be the 12GB variant of RTX 4080 but just two days before RTX 4080 was supposed to hit retail stores, NVIDIA decided to “unlaunch” the 12GB model and officially made the 16GB version as the de-facto RTX 4080 graphics card.

In its official announcement today, NVIDIA essentially believed that 1440p is the sweet spot for enthusiast gamers out there. Hence, the RTX 4070 Ti has been designed as a 1440p gaming beast with the aim to deliver 120fps at that resolution.

Not only that, the company is also explicitly targeting the new card for current owners of RTX 2080 and GTX 1080 Ti. NVIDIA said that gamers are able to experience up to 12x of performance improvements over the six years old GTX 1080 Ti through RTX 4070 TI with the help of DLSS 3.

The graphics giant also claimed that its new card is much faster than RTX 3090 Ti even though it consumes 43% less power on average. As expected, plenty of manufacturers have already confirmed their commitment to the new card including ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY and ZOTAC.

The RTX 4070 Ti will be officially available throughout the world starting from 5 January onwards although we have no knowledge when exactly it will pop up in our market. That being said, we do know its starting price in Malaysia though which is RM4,159 according to the official Malaysian website for GeForce.

As captured on GeForce Malaysia’s website at 9:50 PM today.

Given that the general starting price for RTX 4070 Ti is USD 799, this means gamers have to pay an additional RM600+ to get their hands on the card in Malaysia. Of course, we still have to wait for manufacturers to announce their RTX 4070 Ti cards in our market to know the actual pricing.
