motorola razr 2022 x30 pro

Motorola will finally be unveiling the long awaited Razr 2022 and X30 Pro after its planned official launch on 2 August was abruptly cancelled. The brand did not give an official reason for the sudden decision, but it is widely speculated that it was caused by rising tensions in China due to the controversial visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

While the company didn’t immediately give a new date for a launch, Lenovo Mobile China General Manager Chen Jin posted a new teaser for the Razr 2022. The teaser shows a watch display on the cover screen with the date set to 11 August and the time set to 2 PM, which is most likely the new launch date and time.

Both the Razr 2022 foldable and the flagship Moto X30 Pro are expected to be revealed during the event. Moreover, the upcoming Razr is already available for reservation through Chinese retailer JD.com, which also revealed a new hinge mechanism that will allow the phone to fold flat, as well as a more durable protective film.

The 2022 edition of the foldable will also come in three configurations: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB. The software will also work together with the hinge to enable three different screen modes including a multi-tasking mode, a “surround” mode, and a tripod mode for taking photos.

The Motorola Razr 2022 will be decked out with the top-shelf Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip and will reportedly be powered by a 3,500mAh battery. Based on a purported leak, it might also be equipped with a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP wide angle, as well as a 32MP sensor up front.

As for the X30 Pro, the device has been confirmed to feature the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor as the main shooter for a triple-camera setup. It will similarly run on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and will support 100W wired charging.
