In an updated statement, Maybank has revealed that its debit cards are currently not available for usage. The latest woe came just a few hours after the bank revealed that its hugely popular online banking system, Maybank2u as well as M2U MY and MAE apps are facing technical difficulties.
As per its earlier announcement, the bank once again didn’t disclose the true nature of the problem faced by its debit card. The statement also didn’t specifically mention whether the issue affects only its Visa debit cards or also the bank’s MasterCard debit cards as well.
Similarly, the notice did not mention any expected recovery time too. Hence, it is possible that the bank may take quite a while to solve the issues and with just one week to go before Hari Raya Aidilfitri arrived, we reckoned that this might be inconvenient to many users out there.
