iQIYI has partnered with Malaysia’s COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to hand out approximately RM1.5 million worth of iQIYI VIP subscriptions to vaccinated Malaysians nationwide under the streaming platform’s “iQiyi Bersama Rakyat Malaysia (iQiyi with Malaysians)” programme. The VIP subscriptions will be doled out in the form of vouchers available for redemption on the programme’s website.

According to iQIYI, through this partnership, more than 3,000 titles of Asian content in iQIYI’s platform will be made free to vaccinated Malaysians as the platform hopes to play its part in combating vaccine hesitancy and increase registrations using a reward-based initiative.

The partnership is also in line with the company’s approach to innovative collaboration that connects the viewing public, partners and local non-profit organisations as a way to achieve local impact and give back to the community.

According to iQIYI’s spokesperson the platform will also be partnering with BP Healthcare to offer iQIYI subscribers that book a BP Healthcare COVID-19 test via its Doctor2U application, a discount on their test costs and an iQiyi FREE VIP code.

“We would love to keep everyone entertained with our beloved Asian content while they stay safe at home and hope it makes their time during the MCO 3.0 that much easier,” said IQIYI’s country manager for Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, Dinesh Ratnam.

According to the coordinating minister of Malaysia’s National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, Khairy Jamaluddin, public-private partnerships send strong, clear messages that everyone plays a part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and promoting vaccine awareness.

As of 23 June, 15,654,020 individuals in Malaysia have registered for the vaccine and 4,574,685 of them have been vaccinated*.

According to Malaysia’s Health Minister, Adham Baba, CITF has ordered enough vaccines to cover 109 per cent of its population who qualify for inoculation and aims to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19 by the end of 2021., said Health Minister Adham Baba.
