Aside from the P50 Pocket, Huawei has also launched the P50 Pro in Malaysia last week. The phone was originally announced in China back in July last year before it was previewed in our market through a series of showcases at selected Huawei Experience Stores nationwide last month.

Similar to the P50 Pocket, the Malaysian variant of P50 Pro is equipped with the 4G version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip alongside 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. The IP68-certified phone also has a 6.6-inch OLED display with a native resolution of 2700 x 1228 alongside 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and houses a 13MP f/2.4 autofocus selfie camera right on its centre top section.

Speaking about its photography tools, the P50 Pro is equipped with four different cameras on its back with one of them being the 50MP f/1.8 True-Chroma camera which acts as its main shooter. Huawei has also implemented another True-Chroma camera into P50 Pro but it has a 40MP sensor, f/1.6 lens, and captures images in monochrome instead.

Additionally, the P50 Pro’s rear camera module also includes a 13MP ultra-wide f/2.2 camera and 64MP f/3.5 periscope telephoto camera that allows the phone to achieve a maximum zoom range of 200x. Completing the phone’s general specifications is a 4360mAh battery with the support of 66W Huawei SuperCharge wired charger and 50W SuperCharge wireless charger.

Priced at RM4199, the new P50 Pro is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 21 January. Pre-order customers will receive a Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro together with a one-time free screen replacement that is valid within three months of purchase date and vouchers worth up to RM725 from Huawei Mobile Services as well as Huawei’s long list of partners.
