Armoured Core may be a long-running video game series, but the last entry was Verdict Day, which released all the way back in 2013. Though it looks like series developer From Software, these days known more for its Soulslike games, may be working on a sequel.

Details came courtesy of a user survey which was shared by ResetEra forum user Red Liquorice. While it doesn’t yet have a name, those who took part in the survey were given a few choices, including calling it Armoured Core: VI, AC:6, “Armoured Core: [Something]” or simply Armoured Core.

A description of the game was also provided, which reads “the sci-fi world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki” and “third-person shooter mecha action title that lets you move around an overwhelmingly scaled map that represents a unique sci-fi world with dynamic mech action”. So far, so Armoured Core. The survey also included screenshots and two videos of about thirty seconds in length. None of them are shared since they are “unique ID watermarked”.

That being said, Red Liquorice describes one video as a boss fight that “looked quite Soulsy”. The other video is described as field gameplay in a snowy area with other mechs in the distance. Though the description should be taken with a pinch of salt since, as red Liquorice admits themselves, they are unfamiliar with the Armoured Core series.

At any rate, the next Armoured Core game already has its bones set up. But the fact that it doesn’t have a name suggests that it’s still far from release. So it’s best to forget about it for now and just wait for From Software to announce it. And it will likely only do so awhile after the release of Elden Ring, currently slated to be out on 25 February.
