Four mega vaccine administration centres (PPVs) in Klang Valley will be operational once again in order to accelerate the distribution of the booster dose for the COVID-19 vaccine in the area. Prior to this, the booster dose was mainly distributed at private health facilities through a program managed by ProtechHealth.

Here is the list of the four mega PPVs that will begin to distribute the booster dose starting from 15 January 2022, according to the announcement by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin:

All appointments for booster dose will be provided through MySejahtera or SMS message. However, the public can still choose to obtain their booster dose at the private PPV of their choice although they have to directly contact the PPV and manually sign up for their waiting list.

At the moment, the Cominarty vaccine by Pfizer-BioNTech is being used as the primary booster dose in Malaysia in addition to the vaccine by AstraZeneca. Alternatively, one can also choose Sinovac although they have to pay for it while the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency has agreed to provide conditional approval to Convidecia vaccine by Cansino as a booster dose.
