In conjunction with Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake launch next week, ASUS is opening up preorders for its Z790 motherboards. Like all products under its SKU, the new motherboards are divided into four categories: the ROG Maximus, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, and Prime Series.

At the top of the list, the ROG Maximus Z790 Series motherboard comprises two models: Extreme and Hero. As the premium lineup of the four, one of the latest features to be added is ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile, or AEMP for short. As to what it does, it basically offers improved RAM speed profiles, over the baseline DDR5-4800 kits.

Beyond that, every ASUS Z790 motherboard also gets access to the brand’s AI Overclocking suite, AI Cooling II and FanXpert technology, as well as a Q-Design button that allows consumers to easily slide in and remove a graphics card from the slot. Just as it did with its Z690 series as well, the new motherboards also feature a new Q-Latch on its M.2 slots, further making M.2 SSD installation more convenient and eliminating the fear of losing those tiny screws that used to be part and parcel of the whole process.

In regards to pricing, the ROG Maximus Z790 Extreme and Hero retail for RM5269 and RM3489, respectively.

Moving on, the ROG Strix Z790 series motherboards are again, as before, just a tier below the ROG Maximus line and tailored to the gamer that wants that beefiness but is not willing to spend more than RM3000 for a motherboard. In total, the lineup has three SKUs up for preorder: the E Gaming Wi-Fi, A Gaming Wi-Fi D4, and I Gaming Wi-Fi which is an ITX motherboard. Price-wise, they’ll retail for RM2639, RM2039, and RM2499, respectively.

Over at the TUF Gaming Series, ASUS is only releasing one model under the lineup, and that’s the Z790-Plus Wi-Fi D4. It’s a bit odd that ASUS is offering this model in a DDR4 memory format and not the more up-to-date DDR5 simultaneously, although at this stage, the latter format could make an appearance a little later down the line. As for pricing, it will retail at RM1569.

As for the Prime Z790 Series, the lineup comprises three models, which are the Z790-A WiFi-CSM, P WiFi-CSM, and Plus D4-CSM, the latter clearly designed for the DDR4 format. Pricing for each models are listed as RM1629, RM1339, and RM1119, respectively.

So, if that’s got you interested, ASUS already has a preorder page set up; they all lead to its official Lazada store page.
