Pay TV operator Astro yesterday sent out an email to all it’s customers informing them of a revision to the payment due date of their bills. Since inception, Astro’s payment due date has always been 30 days from the date of Invoice.

Effective 1st October 2022, the payment due date will be revised down to 25 days. It is not immediately clear why there is a need for a date revision. Astro’s FAQ on the date revision mainly states that “This change in due date allows customers to enjoy uninterrupted viewing when they make payments before the next bill is generated for the following month.

While this date revision should not affect customers who have opted for auto-debit payments, customers who are used to making manual monthly payments will have to take note of the new due date.  Missing the due date could also be costly as there will be a RM21.20 reconnection charge should your service be suspended.
