apple 7 september event far out

Apple has finally confirmed the date for its highly-anticipated annual event, which has been dubbed “Far Out”. As always, the tagline of the launch is a teaser of what’s to come. On that note, the event’s space theme might allude to improved telephoto capabilities on the much rumoured iPhone 14 series.

Speaking of which, it is expected that Apple will be unveiling this year’s iPhone models, as they do every year, during this upcoming Far Out event. The new series will reportedly be made up of four models: a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Notably, the Mini is missing from this lineup as rumours say that it has been axed due to poor sales. However, prominent leakster Evan Blass claimed that the smaller iPhone might make the cut after all, according to his source who is a major channel partner in the Asia-Pacific.

As for the upgrades, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that only the Pro models will feature the upcoming A16 chip, while the iPhone 14 and 14 Max might be equipped with last year’s A15 SoC. And it seems that even the world’s largest company isn’t safe from inflation, as Apple will apparently be raising the price of this year’s iPhones by up to 15 percent.

Other devices expected to be revealed at the event include the Apple Watch Series 8 with even more health sensors and possibly even a rugged extreme sports variant of the device. Fans are also waiting for a second-generation AirPods Pro, an updated Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, and more, but some of these might be saved for an October event.

The virtual event is set to take place on 8 September at 1 AM local time, a date that was earlier reported by several leaksters. The fall hardware bonanza will be streamed on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube. It will most likely be pre-recorded, as the company has done for every event since the pandemic began.
